Nursing Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Nursing Assistants within the Surgical and Elective care Business unit on Ward 3 in Hexham Hospital. We are an Orthopaedic ward predominantly caring for patients undergoing elective hip and knee replacements following the fast track protocol. Most of our patients are able to go home on the same day or following day if an overnight stay is required. At present we are providing a minor procedure clinic under local anaesthetic for day case plastic surgery and spinal injections.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. You will be expected to provide high standard of care and also demonstrate excellent communication skills and a flexible approach. To help maintain a clean and safe ward environment. We encourage our staff to develop their skills through a variety of learning opportunities.
