Job summary

James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Great Yarmouth seeks a dedicated nursing support role to provide and monitor safe, person-centred care for patients and families under a registered nurse. Key duties include assisting with cannulation, venepuncture, ECGs and CVAD dressings, supporting assessment and care planning, and contributing to emergency care

Job description

As post holder you will provide and monitor safe, person centred care to a designated group of patients, service users and families in a range of care settings under the direction of a registered nurse, without direct supervision in line with an agreed plan of care.

You will support the registered nurse by contributing to integrated care of on-going assessment and care planning for patients.

Main duties of the job

• Providing nursing care to patients attending haematology and oncology day unit.
• Main duties of job will include cannulation, venepuncture ecg and CVAD dressing and venesection.
• Assisting with acute haematological emergencies and performing routine observations on all patients attending the unit.
• Involovment with simple dressings and assistance with procedures such as Lumbar puncture and Bone Marrow Biopsy.
