Job description
Overview

Newport Infant School and Nursery is a highly successful school where pupils are happy, safe and enjoy learning. The positive, nurturing ethos of the school creates an environment which promotes inclusion and offers every child the chance to become a successful learner.

We are looking for a Nursery and Wraparound Administrator (30 hours per week – Term time only). The scale is 5, Point 13-17, with a pay range of £15.06 – £16.08 per hour depending on experience. This is a permanent position required from January 2026.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Support the vision and ethos of the school.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of finance, accounting and ICT skills.
  • Show commitment and dedication, and be open to new and innovative ways of working.
  • Be a team player and maintain good communication skills.
Working pattern
  • Monday – 8:30 am – 1:00 pm
  • Tuesday – 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
  • Wednesday – 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
  • Thursday – 8:30 am – 1:00 pm
  • Friday – 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Closing date for applicants: 9 am on Wednesday 17 December 2025.

Shortlisting will take place on Wednesday 17 December 2025; candidates will be informed by telephone and email if they have been successful at this stage.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 18 December 2025 (am).

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check as well as other pre‑appointment checks outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2024).

As this role is in regulated activity it also requires checks under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations and Childcare Act 2006.

Safeguarding

Applicants will undergo appropriate child protection screening including checks with past employers, the Disclosure and Barring Service and the list of those prohibited from teaching or working within the profession.
