Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking a dedicated Nursery Third in Charge to join our management team in Greater London. You will work closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child thrives.

You will lead staff, support daily operations, and help plan activities in line with EYFS, while ensuring safeguarding and regulatory readiness. DBS checks and policies will be part of the pre-employment process.

Qualifications

• Experience in early years childcare leadership is preferred.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and EYFS frameworks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to mentor staff and supervise in managers' absence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager with day-to-day nursery operations.
• Step in for senior management when required.
• Lead and support staff, promoting high standards and teamwork.
• Ensure high-quality care, learning, and development for children.
• Assist with planning, observations, and assessments of children.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and Child welfare standards.

We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and enthusiastic Nursery Third in Charge to join our management team and play an important role in the day-to-day running of our nursery.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure the nursery provides a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager with the effective day-to-day operation of the nursery.
• Take responsibility for the nursery in the absence of senior management when required.
• Lead and support staff, promoting high standards of practice and teamwork.
• Ensure children receive high-quality care, learning, and development opportunities.
• Support the planning and delivery of engaging activities in line with the EYFS.
• Monitor and maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and child welfare.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues.
• Support staff with observations, assessments, planning, and children's development.
• Assist with staff supervision, mentoring, and professional development.
• Help ensure nursery policies and procedures are consistently followed.
• Support with regulatory requirements and preparation for inspections.
• Deal professionally and appropriately with any concerns raised by parents, staff, or other professionals.
• Promote an inclusive environment where every child is valued, respected, and supported.
