Nursery Teacher / Room Leader - Independent Pre-Prep School

EdEx are supporting a highly regarded independent pre-prep school, located in Camden, in their search for an experienced Nursery Teacher / Room Leader to join their Early Years team from January 2026. This position will oversee the January cohort of children who joined the nursery earlier this year and are now aged two.

This small, nurturing school prides itself on providing a calm, creative, and holistic environment where children are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and develop a lifelong love of learning. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining this ethos, leading a small class with a focus on personal care, creativity, and strong relationships with both children and families.

The Role

January 2026 start, full-time and permanent position. Salary: £28,000 to £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications).

• Lead a small class of two-year-olds, providing a warm, secure, and stimulating learning environment.
• Plan and deliver engaging, play-based sessions that reflect the school's holistic and creative approach.
• Take full responsibility for daily routines and personal care, ensuring every child's comfort, safety, and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, curiosity, and confidence through child-centred learning experiences.
• Collaborate with colleagues and families to ensure continuity of care and learning.
• Maintain accurate observations and contribute to ongoing assessment and planning.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Level 5 qualification or above.
• Experienced in leading within an Early Years setting, ideally with two-year-olds.
• Confident planning creative, open-ended activities tailored to individual needs and interests.
• Knowledgeable in the EYFS framework and committed to best practice in early childhood education.
• Warm, reflective, and confident in creating a classroom environment where children feel valued and inspired.
