Job summary

A local nursery in Wakefield is seeking a committed Room Leader to oversee a group of children and plan engaging activities. The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 qualification in childcare and experience in a nursery setting. Strong leadership skills and a positive impact on the team are essential. An enhanced DBS check will be provided by the nursery.

Job description

As a room leader you will be the key person for a group of children and will be required to plan activities that are rich, sharp and focused. You must be committed to scaffolding learning and have an excellent understanding of the EYFS. The ideal candidate will be qualified to level 3 and have experience of working within a nursery provision. The candidate will need to have obtained a level 2 English qualification and Paediatric First Aid is desirable but will be offered through the company where not already achieved.

As a room leader, you will be part of the senior team at nursery. Senior Team members will be expected to open and close the nursery on occasions. They will be expected to contribute to the effective planning and day to day working of the nursery.

We are looking a candidate that has strong leadership skills to support the team and have a positive impact on practice.

An enhanced DBS is required for these posts, but will be organised and paid for by the company. All applicants invited to interview will be required to provide evidence of the right to work in the UK, and all positions will be subject to 2 successful references.
