Job summary

A childcare provider in Rochdale is seeking an experienced Nursery Room Leader to oversee room operations and support children's development. The successful candidate will lead a team, engage children aged 0-5 in learning activities, and ensure the highest standards of care. About the Nursery

Are you an experienced and motivated early years practitioner with a passion for supporting children's development? We are working with a friendly, inclusive nursery in Rochdale seeking a dedicated Nursery Room Leader to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role within the room, guiding staff, supporting children aged 0-5, and ensuring the highest standards of care and learning.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily running of your designated room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and child-centred environment.
  • Support children's learning and development through engaging, age-appropriate activities.
  • Oversee key workers, assist with planning, and maintain accurate observations and assessments.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help children build confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and the wider nursery team to deliver high-quality early years provision.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in an Early Years setting is essential.
  • Experience in a senior or room-leading role is highly desirable.
  • A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young children.
Eligibility
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Provide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years.
