Salary : Up to 304

Our client a well established day nursery in Surbiton is looking for a passionate and experienced Room Leader to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Early Years professional ready to take the next step in leadership helping to shape a safe nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 23 years.

As Room Leader you’ll play a key role in guiding a dedicated team of practitioners ensuring high standards of care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a supportive forward‑thinking setting that values both staff wellbeing and children’s development.

What Were Looking For
  • Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working as a Room Leader Nursery Nurse or Senior Practitioner
  • Strong understanding of EYFS and safeguarding requirements
  • Ability to lead motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication skills and a warm approachable manner
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and supporting every child's individual needs

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily operation of the 23 year room maintaining exceptional standards of childcare and learning
  • Support mentor and supervise playroom staff fostering professional growth and teamwork
  • Ensure children are allocated appropriately to key carers and that the key carer system is implemented effectively
  • Promote a safe engaging and inclusive learning environment aligned with EYFS requirements
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers providing professional and supportive feedback
  • Encourage best practice in safeguarding wellbeing and child development across the team
  • Act as a role model inspiring colleagues and contributing to a positive nursery culture
