Job summary

Fennies Day Nurseries is seeking a Room Leader to oversee the day-to-day running of a dedicated early years room in Epsom. You will lead a team to deliver high-quality care and education aligned with EYFS standards, while creating a positive, inspiring environment for children and staff.

You will plan engaging learning experiences, support your team’s professional growth, and partner with families to monitor children's progress.

Qualifications

  • Level 2/3 Early Years qualification or above.
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, Birth to 5 Matters and child development.
  • Experience as a room leader or in a senior early years role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the room with high-quality care and education.
  • Inspire and support the team to deliver outstanding early years practice.
  • Plan and implement engaging EYFS learning experiences.
  • Build strong partnerships with families and maintain open communication.
  • Model best practice and develop the team through guidance and feedback.
  • Maintain safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance.

About the Role

As a Room Leader, you’ll lead your room to deliver exceptional early years education while creating a positive and inspiring environment for children and your team.

You will:
  • Lead the day-to-day running of your room, ensuring high-quality care and education
  • Inspire and support your team to deliver outstanding early years practice
  • Plan and implement engaging learning experiences in line with EYFS and Birth to 5 Matters
  • Build strong partnerships with families andmaintainopen communication
  • Act as a role model for best practice, supporting team development through guidance and feedback
  • Maintainhigh standardsof safeguarding,health and safetyand compliance
  • Monitor children’s progress and support their individual learning journeys

Whatwe’relooking for

You’re a confident and caring early years professional who enjoys leading others and creating an inspiring learning environment.

You will have:

  • Level2 or3 Early Years qualification (or above)
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, Birth to 5 Matters and child development
  • Experienceof working in anearlyyearssetting, ideallyas aroom leader role
  • A track recordof deliveringhigh standardsof care and education
  • Experience of strong practice as a Key Personand in implementing safeguarding,healthand safety, first aid and critical care policies.
  • Strongorganisational, communication andteamworkskills
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade4/C or above); or equivalent
