Job summary

Kido International is seeking a Deputy Nursery Manager (Maternity Cover) to lead Streatham's nursery operations at Kido Streatham Nursery & Preschool. The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with a salary of £33,000–£39,000 and a discretionary bonus.

You will require a Level 3 childcare qualification and management experience in Early Years; Level 2 Maths and English if qualifying after 2014. We offer a supportive culture, generous benefits, and strong progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 childcare qualification and have early years management experience.
• Level 2 Maths and English (functional skills) if Level 3 obtained after 2014.
• Must be able to lead safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursery operations to ensure smooth day-to-day running and high standards of care.
• Manage and develop staff through supervision, appraisals, coaching, induction and development.
• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) overseeing safeguarding practices and training.
• Maintain health and safety compliance including risk assessments and drills.
• Build strong relationships with families and provide exceptional customer service.
• Ensure EYFS and Ofsted compliance with policies and inspection readiness.
• Drive high-quality teaching and learning through curriculum support and observations.
• Oversee staffing and resource management with correct ratios and efficient use of resources.
• Support nursery growth and occupancy via tours, events and admissions collaboration.
• Promote a positive, inclusive culture and continuous improvement across the nursery.
