Nursery Nurse (University Sector)

Cardiff University is an ambitious and innovative place to work with a bold and strategic vision located in a beautiful and thriving capital city. The Little Scholars Nursery facilitates care for the children of Cardiff University students and staff.

The Nursery Services Team support children to become capable, confident and independent individuals. They provide a safe, developmentally inclusive environment for babies (0-2 years), toddlers (2-3 years) and preschool age children (3-5 years).

We are currently recruiting to the post of Nursery Nurse.

Are you a Qualified Nursery Practitioner, holding a minimum Level 3 in childcare or equivalent?

Responsibilities
  • We are looking for warm and inspiring Practitioners to join our incredible team. If you have a passion for working with babies or are dedicated to toddler development, we can offer specialist support and a full training schedule is provided, with a generous Benefits Package and Salary.
  • Full and Part Time positions available - full time - 37.5 hours per week. We also have a part time post 22.5 hours per week - Wednesday - Friday 7.5 hours per day.

Salary and Hours
  • Full Time Starting Salary: £12.79 per hour (£23,350 per annum with one annual increment point up to £23,742 - Grade 2) plus 2.5 hours per week paid at time and a half for
  • Part Time Starting Salary: £12.79 per hour
  • Includes 32 days holiday per year plus 8 bank holidays, including Christmas and New Year Off.
Requirements
  • This individual will have passion and enthusiasm for safeguarding children and delivering high standards of care:
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • At least 1 year’s Childcare experience
  • A great understanding of child development and Curriculum for Wales
  • A passion and enthusiasm for childcare
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal
  • Good timekeeping, organisation and reliability.
