Job description
Overview

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, self‑motivated and committed nursery nurse to join us in our 8‑bedded Mother and Baby Unit, which offers specialist treatment of women with perinatal mental health difficulties. You will work as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team within the inpatient setting providing quality care to women and their infants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the infants, promote interaction and stimulation of infants and support the mums in their role as mothers.
  • Provide continuous care over a 24‑hour period, rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
  • Complete all statutory and mandatory trainings identified by the trust, including prevention and management of violence and aggression and basic resuscitation.
  • Support other mental health units on site during emergencies.
  • Assist mothers with perinatal mental health problems to care for their babies, and engage in activities to promote the mother‑infant relationship.
Training & Development

We are committed to continued professional development and will provide specialist perinatal training and clinical supervision.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
