Salary - £24,080 per annum (pro rata) Hours - 22 hours per week, 38 weeks per year Contract - Fixed Term Contract - until July 2026 Location - Peterborough Closing Date - 2nd November 2025

Are you passionate about nurturing young children and supporting their development in a caring and inclusive environment?

We're looking for a warm, reliable and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to join our friendly nursery team at Peterborough College on a maternity cover basis. You'll be working in a supportive early years setting, helping to deliver high-quality care and education for children aged 0-5.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Supporting the Room Leader to provide a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Acting as a key person for a group of children - observing, planning, and delivering age‑appropriate activities to support their development.
  • Helping children build independence through daily care routines and structured learning.
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, and carers.
  • Supporting the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and nursery policies.
  • Assisting with snack and mealtimes, tidying activities, and contributing to the smooth running of the room.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and attending team meetings to support high‑quality provision.
  • Deputising for the Room Leader when needed.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A Level 2 childcare qualification (minimum).
  • A good standard of education including Level 2 English and Maths.
  • Experience working with children aged 0-5 in an early years setting.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS and child development.
  • A warm, compassionate communicator with great teamwork and initiative.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and ongoing professional development.
Desirable but not essential:

Level 3 childcare qualification, First Aid, Food Hygiene, or Child Protection training.
