Nursery Teaching Assistant

Role Details

We are seeking a qualified level 3 early years teaching assistant for a Wigan Nursery school. The position is full‑time, 40 hours a week, on a temp‑to‑perm basis. Hourly pay rates are £14.00–£15.00 depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Support the nursery teacher in creating a positive and stimulating learning environment for young children.
  • Assist with planning and delivering activities and lessons.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
  • Support children with their personal care needs.
  • Keep records of children's progress and development.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the nursery.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification.
  • Experience of working with early years children.
  • SEN experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom environment.
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, overseas police clearance (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
