Job summary

An independent nursery in Stretford, Greater Manchester, is seeking a Nursery Manager to focus on the development and quality of care for children. The ideal candidate will have at least a level 3 qualification in childcare and experience as a third in charge or deputy. The role emphasizes leadership and communication, aiming to maintain high standards and ensure children's wellbeing at all times. This position does not involve the business aspects of the nursery.

  • £34,320 per annum

  • 40 hours a week over 5 days between the hours of 8am and 6.00pm with an hour lunch break

Duties and responsibilities
  • Actively promote and support the protection of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring that all staff and volunteers observe nursery policies and procedures to keep children safe from harm.
  • Help lead and support staff to implement the EYFS
  • Monitor and evaluate practice within playrooms to support improvements.
  • Work with parents/carers of all children to achieve full integration in the nursery.
  • Foresee the needs of all children, families and staff and give wellbeing guidance as appropriate.
  • Support all staff and lead a good staff team with high morale.
  • Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members.
  • Liaise with the Local Authority and other professionals for the best outcomes for all children.
  • To promote the high standards of the nursery at all times to parents, staff and visitors
