Job summary

Wildflower at Murrayfield in Edinburgh is seeking a friendly Lunch Cover Practitioner to join our nursery team. The role runs Monday to Friday, 11am–2pm, during the busy lunchtime period to support children with meals and transitions in a calm, caring environment.

You will work with a warm, collaborative team, helping encourage healthy eating habits and social interactions while contributing to a nurturing daily routine for the children.

Qualifications

• Warm, approachable, patient and enthusiastic.
• Previous childcare experience or a relevant qualification would be beneficial.
• You will have a genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children during mealtimes, encouraging independence, confidence and positive eating habits.
• Helping children develop their social skills through conversation and interaction.
• Supporting children's personal care and wellbeing throughout the day.
• Assisting with daily routines, including transitions between lunch, rest and play.
• Creating a positive, calm and welcoming environment for all children.
• Working collaboratively with the wider nursery team to ensure every child receives the care and attention they deserve.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a permanent member of our nursery team, supporting our practitioners during the busy lunchtime period and helping to create a calm, welcoming and nurturing environment for our children.

Working Monday to Friday, 11am–2pm, your responsibilities will include:
