Job summary

A local educational organization in Hyde is seeking a Nursery Assistant to support young children's learning and development in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering play-based activities while ensuring each child feels valued. Relevant qualifications and experience are preferred. This full-time role offers long-term temporary work hours from 8:15 AM to 4:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Preferred Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (e.g., NVQ, CACHE).
• Desirable previous experience with young children in a nursery environment.
• Recent safeguarding training preferred, training will be provided.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Child Development: Support the learning and development of children aged 0-5, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Play-Based Learning: Assist in planning and delivering creative, play-based activities that promote curiosity, independence, and imagination.
• Care & Wellbeing: Help with daily routines including snack times, toileting, and outdoor play while ensuring each child feels valued and secure.
• Observation & Assessment: Contribute to observations and records of children's progress to support individual learning journeys.
• Classroom Support: Work collaboratively with room leaders and practitioners to create a warm, inclusive, and stimulating environment.
• Safeguarding: Follow all safeguarding and health & safety procedures to ensure the wellbeing of every child.
• Teamwork: Support colleagues and contribute positively to the life of the nursery.

Experience & Qualifications

• Recent safeguarding training preferred; training will be provided.

Eligibility Requirements

• Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.
• Two professional references related to relevant childcare experience.
