Job summary

Exemplar Health Care’s Wytham Lodge in Burnley is seeking a Unit Manager to lead nursing and care teams and deliver person-centred care. You’ll work under the Clinical Nurse Manager to drive quality, manage clinical risks, and maintain high standards of care on your designated unit.

The role requires a first-level nursing registration with an NMC PIN, post-registration management or supervisory experience, and the ability to lead teams with the initiative to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Post-registration management or supervisory experience or training is required.
• Experience leading nursing and care teams on a unit.

Responsibilities

• Lead your unit’s care and nursing teams to meet medical, physical and emotional needs of residents.
• Provide strong leadership to maintain and develop high standards of care and drive improvement.
• Oversee and manage all clinical elements and risks on your unit.
• Ensure care plans and risk assessments are completed timely and reflect interventions.
• Act as the Named Nurse for residents, overseeing care profiles.
• Manage ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medications.

Contract type:Full time, 42 hours per week on days
Rate:£23.65 per hour

About the role

As a Unit Manager with Exemplar Health Care,you’ll be at the forefront of clinical care delivery for the people living on your designated unit.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• leading your unit’s care and nursing teams to ensure we meet the medical, physical and emotional needs of the people we support
• providing strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement
• overseeing and managing all your unit’s clinical elements and risks
• ensuring care plans and risk assessmentsare completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect care interventions appropriately
• acting as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review and update of their care profiles
• the supervision and management of your unit’s ordering, handling,storage,administration, recordinganddisposalof medication.
