Job description

We are dynamic Emergency Department, treating on average 80,000 patients a year. This is a Secondment for up to ten months as a professional development opportunity as a Band 6 Resuscitation Practitioner to join our pro‑active and innovative team.

You will provide clinical Leadership within the resuscitation room, promoting best practice for patients attending the ED experiencing time critical conditions as well as providing an essential link in the department to support clinical care, innovation, research and education.

  • Registered Nurse/ODP/Paramedic with post registration acute care course or extensive experience with extensive resuscitation experience
  • At least 5 years experience post registration, with at least 2 of those in acute or emergency medicine.
  • Clinical teaching experience and qualifications within relevant field, e.g. Mentorship or equivalent, experience of supervising junior Clinicians
Main duties of the job

Provide emergency nursing care to patients within the resuscitation room of the emergency department confidently and competently, while still retaining the skills to work anywhere within the ED. Support the wider ED adult nursing team as required, as the 'resuscitation nursing expert'. Provide effective care planning and delivery for the sickest patient group within the ED.
