Ward B4 - Healthcare of the elderly is an exciting new 27bedded inpatient ward we are currently looking for an experienced nurse toundertake a band 6 team leader secondment to join our team. We specialise inCare of the Elderly, operating under a progressive nurse-led pull model. Thisis a unique opportunity to develop and shape patient flow, drive quality improvement,and empower a multidisciplinary team in delivering outstanding care to olderadults.

We are looking for passionate, hardworking and friendlySenior Nurses to support the Ward Manager. They will be the advocate for theward managers in their absence and ensure care is delivered according to trustpolicies and procedures. They will coordinate the ward providing effective andconsistent leadership to junior members of staff.

Main duties of the job
  • To be responsible for a large team of staff, including StaffNurses, Nursing Associates, Health Care Support Workers, Student Nurses,apprentices and volunteers.
  • To work closely with all members of the multi professionalteam to ensure that patients receive seamless care within the Trust andcommunity. To provide specialist advice to support assessment, planning andimplementation of care and where appropriate carry out specialist nursingprocedures, facilitate and lead complex discharges ensuring safe, quality andefficient care is delivered.
  • To contribute to specialist education and trainingprogrammes for other staff and learners. To actively assist the Ward Manager,deputising in their absence, in maintaining a safe environment, whilstutilising the staff base to maximum efficiency.
