Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) invites applications for a Band 6 Deputy Unit Manager / Nurse Sonographer to lead the Gynaecology Assessment Unit, Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit and TOP service across GAU, EPAU and TOP at Leigh and Wigan sites.

The role combines clinical leadership with advanced ultrasound and autonomous reporting, supporting the Unit Manager and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (adult).
• Post-registration ultrasound qualification in gynaecology/early pregnancy.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD and leadership development.
• Degree-level qualification in gynaecology or early pregnancy.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coordinate day-to-day running of GAU, EPAU and TOP services.
• Independently perform and report early pregnancy and gynaecological ultrasound examinations.
• Deliver compassionate care for women with early pregnancy complications and gynaecological conditions.
• Support safe staffing, governance, and continuous service improvement.
