About The Role

Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for experienced and passionate Registered Nurses to join our award-winning team at The Burren. The Burren is a brand-new purpose-built service location South Bristol, providing high quality care &supporting residents with varying complex neurological, mental health & dementia care needs provided in a comfortable and safe living environment.Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole persons unique strengths and challenges, rather than just the diagnosis.

What do you need?
  • Minimum 2 years experienced working as a Registered Nurse within the UK with a valid NMC pin
  • Strong Clinical skills e.g tracheostomy care, catheters, venepuncture, wound care etc
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with either complex dementia, neurodegenerative conditions & brain injury conditions
  • Experience working with adults that present with complex needs including challenging behaviours and mental health needs
  • Ability to work alone as well as in a team and be able to form positive relationships with colleagues, residents and families
  • A caring, empathetic and can-do approach to support resident, their families and visitors
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Working with CQC standards,regulatory frameworks and industry best standards
What hours will you work?

Week A: 3 shifts
Week B: 4 shifts
Total average hours per week: 40.25
Please note this role requires you to work alternate weekends.

What will you be doing?
  • Organising and delegating workload to ensure effective delivery of resident’s care is carried out by appropriate skilled members of staff
  • Developing aprofessional relationship with residents and their familiesencouraging them to be actively involved in their care planning ,discharge planning and meaningful activity.
  • Assessing, planning and evaluating care needs or the provision of care
  • Monitor ,support and oversee care provided by Health Care Assistants & Senior Health Care Assistants on shift
  • Participate in clinical meetings as required and report areas of concerns to managers
  • Ensure that relevant documentation is maintained in a comprehensive manner
  • Respect the confidentiality, dignity and privacy of residents and staff at all times

Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them inappropriate candidates for dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly.
