Locum Ready is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work with a GP practice in Louth. The role focuses on autonomous NP-led clinics, urgent on-the-day demand, and supporting daily clinical activity. You will conduct triage, manage minor illness presentations, and contribute to continuity of care.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Registered Nurse Practitioner, with independent prescribing desirable, and comfortable with EMIS/SystmOne/Vision in a primary care setting. Enhanced DBS is required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse Practitioner with relevant experience.
• Enhanced DBS is required.
• Experience in primary/urgent/community care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run minor illness and urgent care NP clinics.
• Perform telephone triage and patient streaming.
• Assess, diagnose and manage undifferentiated presentations.
• Prescribe independently where qualified.
• Review investigations and arrange follow-up.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the clinical system.
• Support GPs and Practice Nurses with core duties.

You will deliver autonomous NP-led clinics, provide efficient triage support and help maintain continuity of care for patients. The practice offers strong clinical oversight, a friendly multidisciplinary team and clearly defined clinic structures to ensure effective and manageable sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Running minor illness and urgent care NP clinics

• Assessing, diagnosing and managing undifferentiated presentations
• Prescribing independently where qualified
• Reviewing investigations and actioning follow-up tasks
• Ensuring accurate documentation within the clinical system
• Supporting GPs and Practice Nurses with core clinical duties

Requirements

• Registered Nurse Practitioner with relevant experience
• Independent Prescribing qualification desirable
• Background in primary care, urgent care or community nursing
• Confident autonomous clinician with strong clinical judgement
