Job description
Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Nurse Practitioner/ Paramedic Practitioner/ Physiotherapist to work within ESNEFT’s Urgent Treatment service in Clacton, providing a holistic approach to the care of individuals. The UTC is open 7 days a week with practitioners expected to work across all days.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose and treat minor injury, minor illness and urgent presentations within the scope of professional practice and agreed guidelines and protocols.
  • Provide care across the UTC at Clacton and the Minor Injuries Unit at Harwich.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across health, social care, mental health and the voluntary sector to ensure holistic and joined up delivery of care.
  • Empower patients to make decisions about their own care, signpost to relevant community and voluntary services, and support patients’ carers and the integrated team in managing urgent presentations.
  • Utilise clinical experience to manage assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients with a range of urgent care presentations.
  • Maintain clinical autonomy regarding clinical diagnosis and future clinical management through clinical assessment and the requesting and interpretation of results of specific medical investigations.
  • Provide support for patients with advice, information, persuasion and direction to community resources to encourage self-management and ongoing independence.
  • Provide support, training and advice to patients, parents and carers.
  • Make clear decisions with confidence and communicate them effectively.
  • Maintain appropriate clinical records in line with current practice guidelines.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Qualified as a nurse, allied health professional or equivalent with a proven track record at this level.
  • Proficient in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of minor injury, minor illness and urgent presentations.
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and teams as part of the Urgent Treatment service.
