  • Registered Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse or Mental Health Nurse with 12 months' post-registration experience.
  • Confident in clinical decision-making with strong understanding of functional assessment.
  • Able to build trust and ask appropriate questions.

Functional Assessor

Salary: Ranging from £37,500 - £39,500 depending on the location and contract.

Hours: Full-time, Hybrid, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

About the role

As a Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical expertise to assess how health conditions impact people's daily lives and ability to work. It's a role that blends medical knowledge with meaningful human connection - giving you the chance to support individuals while contributing to a fair and compassionate benefits system.

You'll carry out assessments both face-to-face and via video or phone, taking detailed medical histories and conducting physical examinations. Your findings will help inform accurate, high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). You'll be trusted to work independently, but you'll also be part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team that values collaboration and continuous learning.
