Job summary

Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital in Wimbledon is seeking a Paediatric Senior Staff Nurse to provide high quality care within the Children and Young Person’s Service. This part-time role offers a varied 30-hour week with shifts between 07:00 and 20:00.

You will support ward operations, work closely with consultants and the CYP team, and help drive service improvements while delivering compassionate, patient‑centred care to children and families.

Qualifications

• Be registered with the NMC and have extensive post-registration experience in a children’s ward setting.
• Desirable EPALS/ILS/ALS skills or willingness to undertake further study.
• Experience in Children’s nursing with Adult nursing as an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Play a vital role in the child’s journey through the hospital.
• Deliver high quality, clinically effective care as part of the ward team.
• Work with consultants and CYP team to develop the service.

As a Paediatric Senior Staff Nurse, you will:

• Play a vital role in the child’s journey through the hospital.
• Be a trusted guide and support to them as well as to their parents or guardians.
• Deliver high quality, clinically effective care as an essential part of our ward team.
• Work with a wide variety of cases which will broaden your skills. You will also work within different specialist areas.
• Support the manager with the operational and clinical management of the CYP service
• Work collaboratively with your manager, consultants and a range of stakeholders to drive and develop the CYP service
• Promote innovation within the service to be responsive to service user needs.

To succeed as a SSN in our Children and Young Person’s Service you will:

• Be registered with the NMC and have extensive post registration experience in a children’s ward setting
• Have various levels of post-registration experience – and ideally EPALS, ILS or ALS skills or willingness to undertake further study.
• Have experience in Children’s nursing with Adult nursing as an advantage
• Work well individually and as part of a team
