Job summary

AWE is offering an office- and site-based placement year at Aldermaston, near Reading. You'll analyse large scientific datasets to support nuclear threat reduction, using data science techniques in a multidisciplinary setting.

Be prepared for onsite work with strict security requirements. You should be working towards at least a 2:2 degree in Computer Science, Forensics, Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics, graduating in 2029 or 2030, and eligible for DV clearance.

Qualifications

• Working towards at least a 2:2 degree in Computer Science, Forensics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or closely related
• Graduating in 2029 or 2030
• UK national; UK passport; 10 years UK residence; DV security clearance eligibility

Responsibilities

• Analyze large scientific datasets using data science techniques to identify patterns
• Apply analytical, statistical or computational methods to improve understanding
• Collaborate with scientists from different disciplines to turn data into evidence
• Support work related to nuclear threat reduction, forensics and treaty verification
