Nuclear Medicine SBH Site Lead Technologist/Radiographer

Barts Health operates one of the largest imaging services in the country, providing medical imaging and diagnostic services, ranging from routine and complex scans in Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT.

We aim to deliver excellent imaging services with high-quality standards that provide an excellent patient experience and are developed and responsive to our local patient needs.

Our Nuclear Medicine services are based at:

o St Bartholomew's Hospital

o The Royal London Hospital

o Whipps Cross University Hospital

We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a passionate and highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Radiographer to lead our SBH Nuclear Medicine service. In this role, you will work closely with other site leads and the Operational Lead Technologist to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of services within our NM department. We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and forward-thinking professional with a proven track record of leadership and management excellence.

Main duties of the job

As the post holder, you will oversee and inspire a dedicated and multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Your role will be pivotal in driving the delivery of outstanding, high-quality NM services while identifying and implementing opportunities for innovation and growth.

You will possess excellent technical skills in organising and delivering NM studies, and have significant experience working in a large Nuclear Medicine departments. As the SBH NM site lead, you will have outstanding communication, organisational, and management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead colleagues, and create a multi-professional quality driven working environment with patients at the centre of care.

The successful post holder will provide senior leadership skills and have in-depth knowledge in Nuclear Medicine governance to support Technologists, Operational Lead Technologist and the Head of Nuclear Medicine within the department.

The post holder will have the ability to work effectively with other imaging service, professional leads within Nuclear Medicine, Radiopharmacy and clinical learning facilitators.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Post-grade in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent
  • HPC State Registration RCT Registration.
  • Evidence of post registration study and Continuous Professional Development
Experience
  • Extensive experience in Nuclear Medicine, PET-CT, and cardiac imaging.
  • Clinical experience in a wide range of imaging modalities
  • Teaching and training experience in nuclear medicine imaging.
  • Evidence of leadership Experience.
  • Experience of supervising and managing staff and undertaking appraisals with Nuclear Medicine staff.
  • Development and implementation of Radiographic protocols and procedures
  • Experience and in depth-knowledge in Nuclear Medicine Governance compliance and risk management in all areas of practice.
Knowledge
  • Expert clinical knowledge in one or more specialist imaging modalities
  • Working knowledge of responsibilities relating to ionising radiation regulations
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, national standards, and professional guidelines.
  • Knowledge of and experience in departmental administration.
