Job summary

A leading engineering firm in the UK is seeking a Hazard Engineer to conduct studies on internal and external hazards for nuclear buildings. The ideal candidate must possess a relevant engineering degree and have experience in safety requirements implementation, preferably in a regulated industry. Responsibilities include producing Hazard Verification Studies and supporting design changes during the construction phase. This role is full-time and requires proficiency in safety engineering methodologies, with English proficiency mandatory and French advantageous.

Qualifications

• Engineer qualified to degree level or equivalent preferably specializing in safety.
• Knowledge of safety requirement implementation and hazard studies.
• Experience in systems, layout engineering and pipework.

Responsibilities

• Produce updates to Hazard Verification Studies relating to internal and external hazards.
• Manage technical topics relating to the protection requirements for the hazards.
• Support design and construction phase with technical expertise.

Skills

Safety requirement implementation knowledge

Knowledge of Nuclear Safety Assessment Principles

Systems and layout engineering experience

Ability to navigate PDMS software

Ability to navigate Navisworks software

English communication skills

French communication skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering
