Job description
Role summary:

DBD is looking for a motivated penultimate-year student studying Chemical Engineering, Maths, or Physics to join our Simulation & Modelling team. You’ll work on real-world projects across the UK and US nuclear industries, from waste reprocessing and decommissioning to advanced site management. Tackling some of the most complex challenges in energy and engineering.

What you will be doing:
  • Support dynamic modelling and simulation projects integrated with our process engineering and nuclear safety teams.
  • Use cutting-edge digital tools to solve real industrial problems.
  • Develop technical and professional skills with guidance from experienced engineers.
  • Contribute to projects that directly impact safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
What we’re looking for:
  • Penultimate-year student (returning to study after placement).
  • Expected grade: 2:1 or above.
  • Strong foundation in science/engineering principles.
  • Interest in nuclear engineering and/or digital modelling tools.
  • Confident communicator and collaborative team member.
  • Commutable distance from our Warrington office.
