About the Role

Our Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss team covers every aspect of a claim, including liability investigations, policy coverage assessment, and quantum assessments for all levels of Multi-Track claims. This role will be assisting on a variety of large loss work ranging from motor, EL/PL, and indemnity.

We are looking for an NQ/Junior Associate (NQ - 2 PQE) who is looking for the next challenge in their career, who can hit the ground running, assisting on high value, large loss files. There are endless opportunities for career development, the Partner will regularly delegate complex aspects of a case and you will be able to develop client contact and relationships. Once client relationships are well developed there could also be the opportunity to lead on lower value, large loss cases of your own as opportunities arise.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team within our multi-award-winning firm. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a drive to succeed and develop their career as an Associate and should ideally have experience of defender litigation. However, transferable skills gained in a Claimant environment would also be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working with all members of the team and you will be exposed to a variety of work, but predominantly acting on behalf of a range of insurance companies and self-insured commercial organisations.
  • Assisting on a varied caseload of motor, EL/PL and indemnity large loss cases
  • Carrying out investigations with live defenders and taking witness statements, reviewing and interpreting medical records and medical reports.
  • Identifying information requirements and securing required documentation/evidence from claimant representatives
  • Adhering to reporting and reserving requirements in relation to different client SLAs
  • File Management - including initial reports, updating reports and correspondence
  • Attending and appearing at court and pre-trial meetings, and adhering to court timetables
  • You will support the Partners in servicing existing clients, growing new business and maintaining relationships with clients using technical excellence and innovation
  • Drafting of all legal documents and client adviceli>
  • Dealing with interlocutory proceedings, CMCs and client meetings
  • Supporting marketing and business development activity with the team and the wider Clyde & Co casualty group
Essential Skills and Experience
  • You will be a highly determined individual able to adapt well within a demanding, fast-paced team.
  • You will have experience of personal injury litigation
  • You will enjoy being challenged by complex legal issues and expanding your knowledge.
  • You will be focused on delivering a highly professional service to clients, including compliance with client SLAs and MI requirements.
