Job summary

Filtronic plc is seeking an NPI Engineer to lead the transition of RF and microwave products from development to scalable production at our new NetPark facility in Sedgefield.

You will collaborate with design, quality and operations, drive NPI plans, DFM/DFA reviews, tooling and automation requirements, and analyse production data to improve yield and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in high-precision manufacturing environments.
• Experience transitioning products from development to production.
• Knowledge of structured problem solving (8D, DMAIC, FMEA).
• Knowledge of process flows, PFMEA and control plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead the introduction of new RF and microwave products into manufacturing.
• Deliver NPI plans from prototype to production release.
• Coordinate pilot builds and production readiness reviews.
• Drive DFM/DFA reviews to improve manufacturability.
• Define tooling, fixturing and automation requirements.
• Develop process flows, control plans and documentation.
• Support early production builds and ramp-up.
• Analyse production data to improve yield and efficiency.
• Lead root-cause investigations using structured methodologies.

Apply your manufacturing expertise to the introduction of some of the world's most advanced RF and mmWave technologies. Filtronic is recruiting NPI Engineers (at all levels of experience) to join our brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at NetPark in Sedgefield TS21 3TG. You will lead the transition of advanced RF and microwave products from development and prototype builds into stable, scalable production. We are particularly interested in engineers from electronics, Tier-1 automotive or other high-reliability manufacturing environments. Experience in structured product industrialisation, process discipline and high-volume production translates strongly into our advanced electronics manufacturing environment. Technical Scope

• RF and microwave module manufacturing
• Semiconductor and RF electronics assembly

About You

You will have strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams. We are interested in candidates with:

• Degree or HND in Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar (or equivalent experience)
• Experience in high-precision manufacturing environments (e.g. automotive, electronics, power electronics)
• Experience transitioning products from development/prototype into production
• Experience with structured problem solving such as 8D, DMAIC or FMEA
• Knowledge of process flows, PFMEA and control plans
