Job summary

manucomm recruitment has a Development Technologist role in Somerset. You’ll support the full product development lifecycle from concept to supermarket shelf, collaborating with NPD teams and customers.

Ideal candidates include Food Science/Technology or Nutrition graduates or those with industry experience, with strong organisational, communication and IT skills, ready to contribute to high standards and timely launches in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or a related discipline.
• Experience within food manufacturing, NPD or a placement year in the food industry.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• HACCP knowledge is desirable, along with experience of packaging development or artwork approval.

Responsibilities

• Support new product development projects from concept through to launch.
• Prepare product samples for customer submissions.
• Coordinate factory trials, product testing and shelf-life evaluations.
• Produce specifications, artwork approvals and technical documentation.
• Work closely with Technical, Operations, Packaging and Supply Chain teams.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and packaging partners to keep projects on track.
• Ensure all products meet food safety, quality and legal requirements.
