Job summary

Smart4Sciences is seeking a New Product Development Chemist to drive the creation and enhancement of coating-related products. You will lead development projects from concept to commercial launch and work closely with internal and external teams to deliver innovative solutions.

The role requires a degree in Chemistry or Materials Science and at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in product or process development within coatings, chemicals, paper, film or adhesives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage development projects from concept through to commercial launch.
• Identify and evaluate new product opportunities and feasibility, costs, resources and potential.
• Plan and prioritise development activities to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Monitor progress and recommend development pathways and launch decisions.
• Support and coordinate laboratory, pilot and production trials.
• Collaborate with manufacturing for scale-up and implementation.
• Engage with external partners including suppliers and test houses.
• Share findings and development insights across the business.
• Provide technical support on material specifications and process improvements.
