Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Norwich to support offshore gas operations. Responsibilities include providing mechanical engineering support, managing maintenance activities, and conducting root cause failure investigations. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in oil & gas, strong knowledge of offshore equipment, and a relevant engineering qualification. This is a Monday–Friday office-based role with occasional travel to onshore and offshore assets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience within oil & gas or a highly regulated industry.
• Experience supporting rotating and static equipment.
• Knowledge of hazardous area equipment and Management of Change processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support across various operations.
• Support maintenance activities and shutdowns.
• Carry out root cause failure investigations.

Skills

Offshore mechanical equipment knowledge

Experience in oil & gas industry

Strong team player

Proactive and safety-focused approach

Education

Engineering degree, HNC or HND qualified

Tools

CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo)
