About the Role: TeacherActive is proud to be supporting a rapidly improving secondary academy in South West Birmingham in recruiting for a Non-Teaching Head of Year.

A medium-sized, inclusive 11–16 academy with a diverse and vibrant student community. The school places a strong emphasis on pastoral care, respect and high expectations, with staff and students alike proud of the significant progress made in recent years.

As part of a well-established pastoral team, you will play a key role in supporting the wellbeing, attendance, and behaviour of students, ensuring they are nurtured, challenged and fully supported to thrive both academically and personally.

Responsibilities

• Leading the pastoral care and behaviour support for a specific year group
• Building strong, positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external agencies
• Monitoring attendance, behaviour and academic progress to ensure students are supported effectively
• Working collaboratively with teaching and support staff to deliver high standards of care and guidance
• Contributing to the wider school community and ethos
