Job summary

Rugby School is seeking staff to oversee the welfare and daily domestic operations of the House, working with the Resident Matron. The role involves liaising with Cleaning Supervisor, House Handyman, catering and medical teams, and taking the lead in organizing House functions.

You will need excellent relationships with young people, strong organisational skills, IT literacy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. A first aid qualification and a full driving licence are essential.

Job description

The post holder for each role will be responsible for ensuring the welfare and well-being of students and the smooth running of the domestic arrangements in the House along with a Resident Matron; this includes liaising with a Cleaning Supervisor, House Handyman, catering and medical teams as well as taking a lead with organising House functions. Applicants will also need to be willing to give practical support in the day-to-day operational running of the house.

Applicants will need to be able to build excellent relationships with young people, be supportive and caring. The post also calls for very good organisational skills; IT literacy; the ability to remain calm under pressure and a flexible approach to duties. A first aid qualification and a full driving licence are essential.

The School is an independent full boarding school of approximately 880+ pupils and 100 full-time members of the teaching staff. Entry for most boys and girls is at 13, chiefly from preparatory schools via the Common Entrance or Scholarship Examination. We offer a competitive salary £20,229.36. The hours will be 35 hours per week including Saturday working. This is a term time plus role of 34 weeks.
