Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Non-Resident Fellow to join our Oncology team at The London Clinic located in Central London. This role is located at our state‑of‑the‑art Cancer Centre in Central London. As a Non‑Resident Oncology Fellow, you will provide clinical and medical support to the patients on the Oncology ward, and to the Outpatient Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy Units, through the provision of general patient care and medical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical care and supervision of Oncology inpatients and outpatients, conducting assessment and clinical evaluations (Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy) in conjunction with Consultants and multidisciplinary teams, including rewriting drug charts and writing up treatment timeouts.
  • Work closely with Consultants and nursing staff to support patient treatments and management of symptom control.
  • Support management of acute oncological conditions including neutropenia, sepsis, treatment‑related toxicities and other oncological emergencies.
  • Participate in daily ward rounds and unit meetings, ensuring records are accurately maintained and utilised for reporting and audit procedures.
  • Attend emergencies and urgent requests from senior nursing staff in the absence of the admitting Consultant, and be part of the acute Oncology steering group.
Qualifications
  • Full GMC Registration with License to Practice, MBBS or equivalent, Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Intermediate Life Support qualification.
  • Completion of General Medical Training (FY1/2) with post‑qualification medical/surgical experience.
Experience
  • Experience of acute medicine and high dependency/intensive care, confident in initial management of deteriorating patient.
  • Ability to assess and manage patients presenting with acute oncological symptoms, performing routine clinical procedures and interpreting standard investigations (blood results, blood gases, ECG, X‑ray).
  • Effective communication and clinical decision‑making skills, building strong relationships with patients, colleagues and consultants.
  • Highly self‑motivated, confident, articulate, diplomatic and tactful with a polite, friendly and courteous manner.
