As the business continues to grow, we are looking to enhance the strength and diversity of our board by appointing a Non-Executive Director with strategic vision, governance experience, and deep market understanding.

Role Purpose

The Non-Executive Director will play a critical role in supporting the board and executive leadership through strategic input, independent oversight, and strong governance. As a growing, regulated business in a competitive sector, we value board members who bring a mix of industry credibility, objective challenge, and future-facing insight — particularly in areas such as financial services regulation, digital innovation, and customer-centric strategy.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic challenge and independent judgment across all board matters.

Contribute to long-term growth strategy, with particular attention to market positioning, customer acquisition, and operational scalability.

Ensure strong corporate governance and FCA compliance, working with the board to uphold high standards.

Offer guidance on risk, regulatory issues, digital transformation, and changing consumer expectations.

Participate actively in board and committee meetings, potentially sitting on Risk, Audit, or Remuneration Committees.

Support succession planning and leadership development within the business.

Qualifications

Candidate Profile

Proven leadership experience in financial services, ideally with knowledge of UK mortgage markets.

Prior experience as a Non-Executive Director, Board Advisor, or senior executive working with a regulated business.

Strong understanding of FCA governance frameworks and conduct risk.

Commercial acumen, with the ability to balance growth ambition with sustainability and compliance.

Effective communicator and influencer, capable of building strong relationships with board peers and executives.

Experience in digital transformation, fintech, or direct-to-consumer financial models.

Exposure to high-growth or private equity-backed businesses.

A background in customer experience, marketing, or operational scaling would be advantageous.
