South Yorkshire Airport City project, the re-opening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport represents one of the region\'s most ambitious and high-profile regeneration programmes.

We are seeking an experienced

Non-Executive Director (NED)

to join the

Board of Fly Doncaster, bringing independent insight, challenge, and commercial expertise to help shape the airport\'s successful mobilisation and return to operation.

Appointed by the

South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), this role offers the opportunity to help steer a major regional asset back into service, ensuring it thrives as a

commercially viable, customer-focused gateway

for South Yorkshire and beyond.

What we need

• Proven commercial leadership experience — ideally customer facing sectors such as retail, with experience of new site opening
• Experience of start-up, mobilisation, or PE experience
• Board or senior advisory experience in a complex, regulated, or public-private setting.
• Strategic thinker with strong commercial instincts and a record of delivery in retail, tourism, or B2C markets.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Integrity, independence, and a collaborative mindset aligned to public service values.
