Job summary

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Non-Executive Director. You will work alongside the Chair and Executive Directors to direct the work of the Trust and forge links with the Council of Governors.

This role requires a clinical qualification and governance experience, with the potential to chair or deputy chair the Quality Committee. The Trust serves around 800,000 people across York, North Yorkshire and beyond, employing around 10,000 staff

Job description

As a Non-Executive Director (NED) your role will be to work alongside other NEDs, the Chair of the Trust and the Executive Directors as equal members of the unitary Board; using your skills, knowledge and expertise to direct the work of the Trust., You will have an important part to play in forging strong links with the Council of Governors. The Council is responsible for holding the NEDs to account, both individually and collectively, for the performance of the Board., You will also have a clinical qualification and experience to become Chair/or Deputy Chair of the Quality Committee.
