A Community Interest Company is seeking a Non-Executive Director to join its Board. The role involves supporting CDS in delivering strategic ambitions and requires significant experience in healthcare governance, communication skills, and stakeholder engagement. The position is part-time with a remuneration fee of £10,000 per annum. Community Dental Services (CDS) is a Community Interest Company (CIC) delivering high quality services to the NHS and local authorities. We commit to reinvesting any surplus back into patient care and we are 100% owned by our employees.
CDS is a referral only dental service, bringing oral health care to people who cannot be treated in a general dental practice. Our patients typically have complex additional needs such as a learning disability, or they may require specialist equipment like a bariatric dental chair or wheelchair tipper. We care for housebound patients through our domiciliary teams and marginalised groups using our mobile dental clinics, working in partnership with organisations patients know and trust. Our Prisons Team are experts in providing dental care for adults and young people in secure settings. Oral health improvement teams work in the heart of our communities to ensure awareness of how to prevent tooth decay.

You will be required to attend quarterly Board meetings and Board Development days in person. These are usually held in Bedfordshire and occasionally in other locations as agreed. Board Committees are held on MS Teams online. The time commitment on average is up to two days per month and will be flexible across the year.
