Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in managing the care home.
  • Supervise, motivate, and support care staff.
  • Maintain high standards of care and promote person-centered approaches.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Foster effective communication with residents and families.
  • Contribute to care planning and reviews.
  • Manage daily operations including staffing rotas.
  • Take responsibility during the Registered Manager's absence.
  • Undertake on-call duties on alternative weekends.

Chatterwood Nursing Home has 35 beds and offers the highest standards of residential nursing care for the elderly in Liss, Hampshire, on the grounds of our sister home Milkwood House.

Job Type / Category
  • Full time - 45 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday - 07.30 to 16.30
  • Alternate Weekends on call
Required Qualifications / Experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Registered Manager - work closely with the Registered Manager to manage the care home, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to standards.
  • Staff Management - includes supervising, motivating, and supporting care staff, as well as assisting with recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Ensuring Quality Care - maintain high standards of care, promoting person-centered approaches, and ensuring residents' needs are met.
  • Compliance and Audits - ensure the care home complies with relevant regulations and standards, participate in audits, and maintain accurate records.
  • Communication and Relationships - fosters effective communication with residents, their families, and other professionals, building strong relationships and facilitating collaboration.
  • Care Planning and Review - contribute to the development and review of care plans, ensuring they are person-centered and reflective of individual needs.
  • Day-to-day Operations - be involved in various aspects of the home's daily operations, including staffing rotas, medication management, and risk assessments.
  • Covering the Manager's Absence - In the absence of the Registered Manager, the Deputy Manager takes on responsibility for the care home's overall management, with support from the clinic lead.
  • Out of Hours - undertaking on call duties on alternative weekends and for holiday cover when required.
