Role Overview

As a Nike Project & Design Co-ordinator within the Property Store Development team, you will play a supporting role in the design development and delivery of Nike shop‑in‑shop environments across the JD ecosystem. Working as part of a dedicated four‑person team focused exclusively on the Nike brand, you will manage and execute projects with a strong emphasis on quality, precision, and brand integrity. This role involves regular site visits across the UK and Europe, requiring a hands‑on approach and a commitment to excellence in every stage of the project lifecycle.

Core Responsibilities & Key Duties
Project Co‑ordination
  • Reporting to Elaine Wilson (JD Property) the Nike Project & Design Co-ordinator will support the delivery of Nike Shop in Shop (SIS) projects across UK, EU and International markets within the JD store environment.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage all phases of assigned SIS projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality execution aligned with both JD and Nike expectations.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation - including schedules, cost reports, progress updates, and quality control records, to ensure transparency and effective stakeholder communication.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress ensuring full compliance with brand and operational standards.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact pre, during and post construction phases, facilitating seamless collaboration between clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Enhance project efficiency by developing and optimising project management tools to support task tracking and cross-functional workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure alignment on design and execution, fostering a team-oriented approach throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proactively resolve any issues to ensure smooth project delivery while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Uphold rigorous quality control standards to ensure all deliverables meet or exceed company and client expectations.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the branded space roadmap, ensuring accurate location tracking and alignment with strategic store design plans.
Retail Design
  • Develop detailed designs and visualisations for Nike SIS (Shop-in-Shop) concepts, clearly demonstrating location integration and how the space will come to life within each JD store.
  • Review and provide feedback on fixture supplier designs, ensuring alignment with store-specific requirements including brand DNA, sizing, and quality standards.
  • Utilise AutoCAD, InDesign, and 3D rendering tools to support the development and refinement of SIS design concepts.
  • Maintain and regularly update the Nike Playbook, ensuring all geographies reflect the latest brand guidelines and design direction.
  • Participate in collaborative design workshops with JD and Nike teams to co-create SIS concepts and spatial layouts.
  • Partner with external creative agencies to validate proposed designs and concept evolutions, ensuring technical feasibility and compatibility with JD’s material palette and fixture system.
  • Work closely with JD’s internal design teams to ensure consistency across project-specific designs and store-specific customisations.
  • Create compelling PowerPoint presentations to communicate SIS concepts and design narratives to all stakeholders, including JD, Nike, 3rd party suppliers, and new franchise partners.
Budget & Technical
  • Support the management of the Nike PT budget, ensuring JD and Nike maximise available funds within the fiscal year through strategic planning and efficient allocation.
  • Contribute to the allocation of agreed PT spend, collaborating with key stakeholders to align investment with city strategies and broader rollout initiatives.
  • Conduct factory and supplier visits to support the fixture sign-off process, ensuring all Shop-in-Shop elements meet the high brand standards of both Nike and JD.
  • Provide input into the technical drawing process, ensuring design proposals meet the functional and aesthetic requirements of both brands.
  • Support with the identification of new vendors and support RFPs as necessary through sharing on knowledge and experience in delivering the SIS globally.
  • Ensure build instructions, inclusive of videos and photos packs reflect the correct installation methods.
Your attributes
  • Understanding of retail design, materiality and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven experience in project planning and execution, including on-site roles, within the retail shopfitting industry.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities effectively.

  • Able to work InDesign or a willingness to be trained in this package.
Position Requirements
  • Valid passport and full driving licence, with a readiness to travel as needed.
  • Understanding of the retail sector, with interest in current fashion and design trends.
  • Passion for the JD and Nike brands!
  • Understanding of property, including design, construction, and fixture & fitting sourcing.
  • Knowledge of the construction and shopfitting industry.
  • Practical mindset with the ability to interpret technical documents in the context of design and project delivery.
  • Agile and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced environment while balancing priorities, deadlines, and objectives.
  • Good time management skills, capable of overseeing multiple projects across time zones while maintaining design integrity and budget discipline.

  • Engage with cross-functional teams including procurement, merchandising, space planning, marketing and finance.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal teams relating to Nike shop in shop unitary and design, fostering collaborative partnerships that enhance in-store brand presence.
External Stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with Nike teams across global and local markets to align on strategic goals and execution of SIS’s.
  • Act as a key contact for Nike, representing both brands in all aspects of the role.
  • Liaise with general contractors and supply chain partners to ensure timely, cost-effective and high-quality project delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external creative agencies to deliver innovative and brand-aligned store environments.
  • Communicate with 3PL providers to ensure timely delivery of shipments to meet project timelines.
