Job summary

A care support organization in Northern Ireland is seeking dedicated individuals to provide high-quality care and support to clients with intellectual disabilities and autism. The role involves developing supportive relationships, implementing individualized care plans, and encouraging client involvement in decision-making. Ideal candidates will have experience in a similar field and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work various shifts including days, nights, and weekends.
  • 6 months’ experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism.
  • 6 months’ experience of the positive behaviour support model of care.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to maintaining a therapeutic environment.

Job description

To provide the highest possible standard of care and support to the people who use our services through actively promoting and implementing a values, rights and strengths based person centred approach. This includes implementing person centred care and support plans alongside the commissioning Trust’s care, support and behavioural intervention plans.Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with the people who use our services and act in a supportive and empathetic manner towards them.
  • Contribute to and help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
  • Support the people who use our services to manage their physical health, mental health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual support plans.
  • Work closely with statutory professionals, including the Positive Behaviour Support Service and Intensive Behaviour Support Services to ensure behavioural intervention plans are delivered consistently and appropriately as outlined by the commission.
  • Actively encourage the involvement of the people who use our services in all aspects of decision making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by the people who use our services.
Skills and Qualifications
  • To be willing to work various shifts which may include days, nights, evenings and weekends.
  • A minimum of 6 months’ experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism.
  • A minimum of 6 months’ experience of the positive behaviour support model of care.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
