Job summary

A healthcare support organization in Northern Ireland is seeking compassionate support workers to assist individuals with learning disabilities. You will build trusting relationships, implement individual support plans, and help manage both physical and mental wellbeing. Experience in caregiving and understanding of disability issues is required. This role involves working nights and requires sensitivity and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with the people who use our services and act in a supportive and empathetic manner towards them.
• Display compassion and sensitivity to the people who use our services’ and next of kin needs.
• Contribute towards a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
• Support the people who use our services to manage their physical health, mental health and wellbeing through the development and implementation of an individual support plan.
• Identify problems and issues and work with the people who use our services to provide the most appropriate solutions to promote wellbeing for all.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience of supporting an individual with household tasks and/or providing emotional support & willing to work waking nights.
• Knowledge and understanding of intellectual disability issues.
