Job summary

Bombardier’s Biggin Hill Service Centre (London area) is seeking a Nightshift Aircraft Mechanic to maintain aircrafts per approved manuals, with supervision from Certifying Staff. The role requires awareness of MOE procedures, safety policies and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.

You will perform maintenance tasks to the required standards, order parts, document work and participate in safety and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Civil maintenance experience is required.
• Appendix I to Part-66 knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of Part-145.
• Knowledge of EWIS and CDCCL where relevant.
• Knowledge of human factors, human performance and limitations.
• Ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use standard tools and ground support equipment.
• Ability to work with maintenance data and report defects to re-establish standards.
• Ability to identify unsafe conditions.
• Understanding of critical tasks.
• Basic PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Bombardier’s MOE and maintenance procedures and applicable work instructions.
• Comply with Environmental/Health/Safety policies; participate in 5-S activities; perform work safely and timely.
• Perform and document work per maintenance data.
• Identify defective aircraft components with Material Return Form.
• Order parts in SAP.
• Carry out maintenance tasks under supervision and notify supervisors of defects.
• Process removed, uninstalled and rejected parts.
• Correct defects under supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award-winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK. The facility has the capabilities to perform an array of maintenance checks, modifications and upgrades all from this site. What are your contributions to the team?

• Adhere to Bombardiers Maintenance Organization Procedures, among which the relevant parts of the MOE and applicable work instructions.
• Comply with Environmental / Health / Safety policies and procedures. Participate in 5-S activities. Perform all work in a safe and timely manner
• Perform and document work performed per appropriate and approved maintenance data (e.g. aircraft maintenance manuals)
• Identify defective aircraft components with the Material Return Form
• Order parts in SAP
• Carry out maintenance tasks to the standard specified in the Maintenance Data under supervision of Certifying Staff/Support Staff, and to notify supervisors of defects or mistakes requiring rectification to re-establish required maintenance standards
• Properly process removed, uninstalled and rejected parts
• Correct defects under supervision of Certifying Staff/Support Staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned

How to thrive in this role?

• You have some civil maintenance experience
• You are up to date basic knowledge requirements of Appendix I to Part-66
• You have basic knowledge of Part-145
• You have knowledge on EWIS and CDCCL when relevant
• You have knowledge on, and practicing of, human factors, human performance and limitations
• You have the ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings
• You have the ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual task status
• You have the ability to use standard tools, special tools and to operate ground support equipment
• You have the ability to work in accordance with the maintenance data and to notify the function responsible of defects or mistakes requiring rectification to re-establish required maintenance standards
• You have the ability to identify and rectify existing and potential unsafe conditions
• You have experience understanding critical tasks
• You have basic PC skills
