Job summary

Exemplar Health Care is seeking a Health Care Assistant at Wytham Lodge care home in Burnley to support adults with complex care needs and provide compassionate, person-centred care. You will work as part of a dedicated team to help residents live their best lives.

Salary: £12.81 upon completion of exemplar care certificate

Contract type: Full time – 36 hour contract minimum

Location: Wytham Street, Padiham, Burnley, BB12 7DX

About the role

As a Health Care Assistant at Wytham Lodge care home, you will support adults living with complex care needs to live their best lives. You will work as part of a caring team to provide skilled and compassionate care for residents with acquired brain injuries, complex mental health needs, dementia and physical disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support people with personal care.
• Assist people at meal times.
• Understand individual health and wellbeing needs.
• Encourage and support people to take part in social activities, both in and out of the home.
• Promote choice, dignity, independence and respect.
• Complete and maintain care records.

Qualifications and attributes

• Caring, kind, understanding and calm.
• Able to deal with and defuse challenging situations.
• Energetic and outgoing, with a positive can‑do attitude.
• A great listener and communicator.
• Experience or qualification in care is desirable but not essential.
