Warehouse Team Leader - Late Shift

Join a great client of ours as a Warehouse Team Leader, where you will play a pivotal role in leading a team and ensuring operational excellence. This position offers a rewarding career path, competitive salary, and the opportunity to progress as the company grows.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead a team of late shift operatives through busy shifts, 5 nights a week.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision, and how the warehouse contributes to these.
  • Liaise with the customer services team regarding customer orders and stock allocation.
  • Coordinate and monitor the picking, checking of orders, and the loading and dispatching of delivery vehicles.
  • Manage inputting tickets onto the routing system and ensure all details are correctly inputted for routing stages.
  • Adjust loads between vehicles to ensure all pre-drops are achievable and routes are compliant with weight regulations.
  • Utilize space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, ensuring quality and environmental objectives are met.
  • Coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems as necessary.
  • Handle internal and external communications via email and telephone.
  • Organise recruitment and training of staff, monitor performance, and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Maintain regular KPIs, reports, and statistics, and brief warehouse staff on company progress.
  • Uphold standards of health, safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment, promoting a healthy workplace and colleague wellbeing.
  • Develop strong relationships with Goods In & drivers, ensuring high priority open communication to help staff achieve goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in managing a warehouse late shift or operations in a busy warehouse environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver inspirational leadership, operational excellence, and great customer service.
  • Passionate, inspirational, and an engaging leader who can delegate successfully and empower colleagues.
  • Adaptable to change, resilient, and tenacious with high levels of energy and enthusiasm.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, willing to take on significant goals.
