Job summary

Hector Francis in Warrington is seeking an experienced Transport Planner/Operative for a 4 on, 4 off night shift. The role starts on a temporary-to-permanent basis, with a permanent position after 12 weeks for the right candidate.

You will plan and coordinate general haulage movements, communicate with drivers and customers, and ensure the operation runs efficiently through night hours 18:00–06:00.

Qualifications

• Experience in the transport and logistics industry.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and WTD regulations.
• Experience moving jobs and replanning during live operations.
• Excellent driver communication and engagement skills.
• Strong administration and PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating general haulage operations.
• Allocating and moving jobs as required.
• Replanning routes and workloads when operational requirements change.
• Communicating effectively with drivers throughout the shift.
• Managing driver engagement and providing operational support.
• Working within drivers' hours and WTD regulations.
• Using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and customer portals.
• Maintaining accurate transport and compliance records.
• Liaising with customers and providing a high level of customer service.
• Ensuring all transport activities are carried out safely, efficiently and compliantly.
